Fernando Alonso catches fire against the FIA in the middle of the US GP

Although he was out of the points, Fernando Alonso became the great protagonist of the United States Grand Prix. The Spaniard was passed by Kimi Raikkonen on lap 16 with the Finn using the outside of the track illegally by going completely off the track to overtake him.

Fernando Alonso asked that the position be returned to him immediately. The FIA opened an investigation that ruled that Raikkonen should not give him his place. The Finn, in fact, passed his teammate Antonio Giovinazzi while they took the deliberation.

The two-time world champion fired up and went all out for Giovinazzi, overtaking him off the track as Raikkonen did . The Spaniard left his Italian rival several seconds away when the FIA ordered him to return the position to the Alfa Romeo driver when Alonso was about to consummate his vendetta against Kimi.

Fernando Alonso was beside himself. He did not believe that the FIA was intervening in such an arbitrary way and on the following lap he launched a final blow that, this time, gave him the position ahead of a Giovinazzi who paid for the broken dishes of Raikkonen. The Alpine rider took the center stage of the race.
