Ferrari and the presentation date of its 2022 car: February 17

The director of Ferrari, Mattia Binotto , had anticipated that the Italian team would present its 2022 car in mid-February, and finally the date selected to discover the new car will be February 17 at 2:00 p.m. Spanish time.

That day, Wednesday, we will be able to see for the first time what the Ferrari with ground effect will be like, adapted to the new regulations that Formula 1 debuts in 2022, and that Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will drive during the 23 races that the course will have.

Ferrari became the second team to reveal the date of its new car, and it will unveil it just a week after Aston Martin shows us its AMR22 .

Although its project number is ‘674’, it is not yet known what the Cavallino ‘s car will be called after the 2020 SF1000 and the 2021 SF21H, a Formula 1 with which Ferrari hopes to return to winning ways after of having recovered performance last year with the achievement of third place in the constructors’ world championship.

Ferrari homologated the chassis of this car at the end of December, and it is now completely ready to hit the track when the 2022 preseason begins at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on February 23.

Like last year, Ferrari has reserved an exclusive day at the Montmeló circuit to do a filming day before the tests to check that the car was ‘born’ well. In addition, at the end of this month of January, Sainz and Leclerc will shoot in Fiorano with last year’s car to reactivate after the holidays.

Waiting to see the appearance and characteristics of the Ferrari 2022, as well as its colors and general design, Mattia Binotto announced that it will be an innovative car both in aerodynamics and in the engine section.

“I think the whole engineering team approached the new design, the new project and the rules of 2022, which was a great opportunity, with a more open mind than before, without a doubt,” explained the director. “I can see that for myself by looking at the car itself, the way it’s progressing, and the level of innovation we’ve put into it.”

This will be Ferrari’s 73rd season in the Formula 1 world championship, being the only team that has been in each and every one of the races in history. In Maranello they cling to the hope that the new regulations will allow them to be in a position to recover a world championship of drivers who have not won since 2007 and one of constructors who have not won since 2008.

And while the new Ferrari arrives… enjoy all the Formula 1 cars in its history!
