The duo have managed to collect 78 points from two races, more than double their closest rival Mercedes, proof that the approach taken in 2021 worked better than expected.

“With five podium finishes and third place in the constructors’ championship, the Formula 1 season left us with encouraging signs,” the Italian-American said in a letter to Ferrari shareholders.
“However, the company is now focused on the challenges for 2022. With Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, the team has the best driver duo on the grid, and they have started the year well,” he continued.
In this letter that he sent to the partners of the Maranello manufacturer, Elkann also highlighted the results off the track throughout the past year in the automobile market.
From a financial point of view, it was an excellent year: “In 2021, Ferrari finished a record course, with revenues of 4.3 billion euros (23.4% more than in 2020), and a gross profit of 1.5 billion euros. euros”.
