The Ferrari will be in the hands of Charles Leclerc between 9am and 1pm on May 13, and will complete the authorized 100km on Pirelli demo tyres. They will alternate data collection for the Spanish GP with commercial filming in a closed-door session.
Ferrari has planned the 2022 season with a very precise calendar. In Maranello they do not want to leave anything to chance to continue at the top of the two world championship classifications, both drivers and constructors, although the margin over Max Verstappen’s Red Bull is shrinking after the Dutchman’s two victories in Imola and Miami.
The Scuderia has decided to react and introduce the first major package of improvements to the Spanish GP. The F1-75 will be the protagonist of the second filming day of the season. The first took place in Barcelona, as usual, on February 22, one day before the preseason tests began.

The choice of the Monza circuit has not been by chance: the Italians need to find a higher top speed on the straights to counter Red Bull, and the Brianza temple of speed is precisely the ideal setting to see if the work done by the engineers led by Enrico Cardile gives the desired result.
The distance to be covered authorized by the FIA for a day of these characteristics is only 100 km , a third of the usual race distance and the same as sprint races. Likewise, Leclerc will be forced to use the Pirelli demo tyres, which have nothing to do with those used during a weekend of competition.
It is not the first time that the legendary Italian route has been used as the setting for a filming day. On August 8, 2019, Leclerc himself was summoned to test with an SF90. This day preceded the Monegasque’s first two victories in Formula 1 and at the wheel of a Ferrari, at the Belgian GP at Spa-Francorchamps and at the Italian GP, returning Ferrari to the top step of the podium in the temple of speed. from 2010.
