Correct in sales but failed in its execution, the first ‘Epic Mickey’, endorsed by the mythical Warren Spector , which this week is on everyone’s lips due to the launch of the sequel to ‘Deus Ex’, enjoyed a very promising approach which finally came to practically nothing. Not even the nostalgic effect could save him from burning when it came to taking the controls.
However, it seems that the Disney team still believes in the possibilities of this franchise because, according to a marketing survey, its sequel is already in the pre-production phase. A game on which we are invited to decide a name, to choose between ‘Epic Mickey 2: Return of the Mad Doctor’, ‘Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two’, ‘Epic Mickey 2: Mystery on Mean Street’, or simply ‘Epic Mickey 2’ . Collaboration is also requested to choose its cover from among the four that you have above.
The game, which if it came to fruition on this occasion would have the option of two players and would land on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii , would star the good old Mickey and his brother Oswald . While the first would continue with his brush, the skills of the second would focus on a device capable of emitting electric shocks and moving the ears to soar like a helicopter.
As we always say, nothing can be confirmed until we have an official confirmation, but nevertheless the nature of the project could well be considered a sweet tooth for distributors, so it is more than likely that we will soon know more about this ‘ Epic Mickey 2 ‘ . Let’s hope that this time the illusion for the more advanced sketches of the first installment remains in something more than that.
