Every time I remember the Atari 2600 one of the first games that always comes to mind is the mythical ‘Frogger’ by Konami, whose origin (in arcade) dates back a year to my birth. How quickly time passes! But as we are living a second youth with the classics of the eighties and nineties thanks to the services in downloadable format, Konami returns to the ring again after ‘Frogger Returns’ almost three years ago with ‘Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition’ , and yes you allow me the similarities, under a touch to the ‘Pac-man Championship Edition DX’ that does not seem to sit at all bad. Renew or die , as they say.
But ‘Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition’ will not change that mechanic that even today remains intact for 30 years, but will adapt its graphic section to the present, although without denying the past (in the form of winks, not only to its own ‘ Frogger ‘ in its multiple versions, but other classics of the company, such as’ Castlevania’ or ‘Contra’), adding additional game modes along the way, such as Tile Capture, Battle Royale and Freak Out, apart from an always grateful mode four-way multiplayer. Come on, the thing promises if we have always been followers of ‘Frogger’ .
‘Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition’ has just been officially announced by Konami for this spring, with Playstation Network, WiiWare and Xbox Live Arcade being the services chosen for the occasion. The price is still a mystery. We leave you with his first images.
