- Soul Walks: Twilight Tours at the Congressional Cemetery – Select dates in October, 5: 30-10 pm Congressional Cemetery, 1801 E Street SE Washington, DC The tour tells the stories of the congressman’s lost souls to the carpenters, suffragettes to smugglers.
- Most Haunted Houses: Lafayette Square Park is known as the most haunted site in Washington, DC. Take a two-hour ghost walking tour with Washington Walks, one of DC’s leading walking tour companies, and learn about the spirits of the nation’s capital. The tour is offered Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 pm, April through October. Reservations are not required.
- Natalie Zanin’s Historic Walks – The Ghost Story Tour of Washington. Hear stories and meet spirits in Lafayette Square Park, across from the White House. Friday and Saturday in October at 8 pm
- DC Ghost Tours – Tour Lafayette Square and discover the ghosts of the six appearances witnessed at St. John’s Church, the poltergeist at the Hay-Adams Hotel, and the legendary tales of Lincoln’s ghost at the White House. Tours are offered nightly from 8 to 9:30 pm from March to mid-November. Additional tours added in October. December to February (call for winter hours).
- Scary DC – Ghosts of Washington – The 90-minute walking tour explores paranormal phenomena and ghostly events, including searches for the spirits of Abe Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Dolley Madison, Stephen Decatur, Ulysses S. Grant, and other spirits that haunt the capital of the nation. Tours are offered on Saturday nights at 7 and 9 pm throughout the year.
- Nightly Spirits: The White House Haunted Pub Tour is a 2.5-hour walking tour of some of Washington DC’s most historic and haunted pubs and buildings. Participants must be over 21 years of age. The tour stops at 3-4 different locations, allowing time to get a drink at each location. The tour combines a good mix of haunted and historical stories, while allowing time at each bar for a drink.
- National Building Museum Ghost Tours – Take a spooky lantern-lit ghost tour led by costumed Civil War veterans. Infamous as one of the most haunted buildings in DC, find out why ghosts call the National Building Museum home. Hear stories of a cranky rider on horseback and look for mysterious faces on the 75-foot Corinthian columns and more! Select dates from September to October. Registration is required. - Candlelight Ghost Tours of Frederick – This is one of the most popular sightseeing tours in Frederick. Take a 90-minute ghost tour and prepare for inexplicable historical ghost encounters in downtown Frederick. Tours are available every Saturday night. Reservations are suggested for large groups.
- Ghosts of Annapolis Tours – There are two tours available. Historic Annapolis Ghost Walking Tour – A lantern-led ghost walk through downtown Annapolis takes you on a journey through the city’s most horrifying haunted sites. On the Haunted Pub Crawl of Historic Annapolis, visit four of Annapolis’s most haunted pubs (21 and over). Tours are available throughout the year.
In northern virginia
- Original Alexandria Cemetery and Ghost Tour – Explore Alexandria’s Old Town while hearing ghost stories, legends, and unsolved mysteries. Tours are available from March to November.
- Alexandria’s Steps from Past – This walking tour focuses on the ghost sites of Alexandria’s Old Town. Tours are offered nightly from March to November. Tours available from December to February by appointment for groups of 5 or more.
- Leesburg Ghost Tours – The two-hour ghost tour examines Leesburg’s history and paranormal experiences. Tours are available by appointment only on Fridays and Saturdays from April to October and October 31.
- Paranormal Tours in Oatlands – Guests will enjoy a guided night tour of the mansion. Tour guides will share exciting ghost legends and personal accounts of unexplained events on the property. - Haunted Occoquan – Guided ghost tours offered March through December (weather permitting) Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm. M. With an additional tour of 4 p. M. Saturdays. Visit shop owners who have had merchandise scattered by ghosts or catch a glimpse of the young man who supposedly haunts a busy corner of Occoquan Street.
