If you are watching the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and you want to get much more into the sports environment, nothing like being accompanied by some of the protagonists of these games. Thanks to Google Chrome we can see how its augmented reality function of which we have previously seen how it showed us animals of all kinds , now also includes people and specifically the athletes of the current Olympics.
At the moment there are only nine athletes that Google Chrome has chosen for its augmented reality function, so you will be able to Simone Biles, Alexander Massialas, Dina Asher-Smith, Naomi Osaka, PV Sindhu, Megan Rapinoe, Leticia Bufoni, Niklas Kaul and Caeleb Dressel.
In this way, if you want to be able to have the athletes of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in your living room or wherever you are, you just have to follow these steps:
- First of all, check if your mobile has Android 7 or a higher version, which is what is required to be able to see the augmented reality of Google Chrome.
- If so, you should go to the Google Play Store, look for the ARCore application that you may already have installed as standard, but if not, you install it for free from Google Play.
- Then you can open Google Chrome and search for any of the Olympic athletes that we have mentioned and that are available.
- Once it offers you the search results, you should click when you see the name appear with the word “3D” next to it.
- You will then see how the athlete appears through the camera of your mobile with a white background, but if you want to integrate him / her in the place where you are, you just have to click »on the option you see that says « See in your space”.
- Now you will be able to see the athlete (and you will notice that they even move or jump depending on their Olympic discipline), you can take photos or record them on video.
