For a quarter of a century, a lot of things have been flying through and into the air at RTL when the police officers from “Alarm für Cobra 11” are out and about. Now start the new season.
Cologne – actor Erdogan Atalay (54) gives footballer Lukas Podolski (36) hope for a role in his action series “Alarm für Cobra 11”.
“If Lukas can tear himself away from his kebab shop, he would be very welcome!” Said the television commissioner of the German press agency in Cologne. “At the same time, the catering would also be clarified: kebab for everyone!”
Podolski, who in addition to his kicker career with kebab snack bars, had suggested a few weeks ago that he could envision a part in the crashing RTL series. “Something like that with a bit of action. And if you can do something crazy – such a beautiful action scene here in Cologne – I’ll be there, ”Poldi explained. The ways would be short: Podolski, like the “Cobra”, is now part of the RTL family. The broadcaster signed him as a juror on the show “Das Supertalent”.
Atalay even has specific role ideas for Podolski. “If he then played a bad guy, he could unpack his old striker qualities and run away from me. But I’m sure I would get him in the first fifty meters, ”said the actor. He suggested a wager. “If I lose, I’ll grill kebab at Poldi’s for a day.”
“Alarm für Cobra 11” is a long-running hit in the RTL program. The series (“Your territory is the autobahn. Your speed is grueling. Your opponents: car smugglers, murderers and blackmailers”) has been running for 25 years. She is known for fast cars, crazy stunts and all kinds of explosions. Atalay, who has been part of the third episode, plays highway inspector Semir Gerkhan and is the constant in the “Cobra” cosmos. His team partners, on the other hand, changed regularly. Pia Stutzenstein is currently playing as Vicky Reisinger Semir’s colleague. In 2020, the appearance and narrative style of the series were revised. It is now more realistic and gloomy.
From Thursday (July 29, 8:15 p.m., RTL), RTL will be showing a new season of the Autobahn series with eight new episodes. They are already available from the TVnow streaming service. RTL itself spoke at the announcement of the “for the time being” last season of the classic. What that means? Before a decision is made about a sequel, one “of course wants to know how the viewers will receive the new episodes,” said a spokesman. “But we are convinced that the story of the” Cobra “is not over at RTL.”
