Both Lewis Hamilton and his teammate George Russell have had problems with recurring porpoising , something that has prevented them from achieving better performance with their W13 and also does not allow them to compete regularly with Red Bull and Ferrari, their main objective.

“That’s not the way we like to think, but it felt like, ‘Oh my gosh, we’ve got a long way to go’ to catch up with the top teams knowing the progress they’re making,” Hamilton said.
The seven-time world champion finished third at Silverstone , marking the first time this season that Mercedes had achieved two consecutive podium finishes after achieving the same result at the Canadian Grand Prix two weeks earlier.
“Definitely, [it’s] hugely motivating this situation. For a long, long time we were making changes, and although it was a good step that we took in Barcelona, then we had several difficult races. Then the last two events were quite promising, and that really It encouraged us that we are moving in the right direction, to think that there really is hidden potential in the car.
“With a little more introspection and a little more hard work, hopefully we can get closer to having a chance to win a race. So I really think we can do it this year,” concluded Hamilton .
