At the end of June, the city celebrates Helsinki Gay Pride, which comprises a week of events. This year’s dates are June 27 to July 3, 2016. Events include a Pride Parade on Saturday, July 2, beginning at Plaza Senaatintori, with the procession leading to the Pride Festival grounds at Kaivopuisto Water Park in the far southeast of the city.
Note that Helsinki Gay Pride takes place at the same time as another major Scandinavian LGBT event, Oslo Gay Pride in Norway.
