How to get from London, UK and Paris to Limoges

The regional capital of the Limousin region and the Haute Vienne department, Limoges became famous in the 19th century when it became the main city manufacturing high-quality porcelain. It is an area for grazing cattle; the shepherd’s cape was called a limousine. The first limousine was built in 1902 and designed for the driver to sit under a covered compartment. It looked a lot like the hood the shepherd used to keep dry, and the name was adopted for a car.

Limoges is on the pilgrimage route from Vézelay to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
