About the design of the ornament 2015
The 2015 White House Christmas Ornament honors President Calvin Coolidge. As the 30th President of the United States (1923–1929) he marked his first Christmas in office by starting a new American tradition of the Community Christmas Tree, now known as the National Christmas Tree. The ornament design is a tree and features 14 illustrations highlighting stories from Coolidge’s life and presidency. Topped by a star in the same style as the 1923 tree, the ornament includes a work light that illuminates the Coolidge White House and the tree’s design from within.
This is the first time the technology has been featured in an official White House trim design.
