How to get tickets to the Cyclones baseball game in Coney Island

What could be more Brooklyn than baseball?

Baseball is like a Brooklyn institution. Sure, the Dodgers are ancient history. Still, everyone loves a good game, and the small MCU stadium in Coney Island, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the boardwalk, with the ocean breeze and views of the amusement park rides, is one of the things that make Brooklyn worth living. summer.

Some people go to all the Cyclones games. For others, once a season is sufficient. But if you are a Brooklynite, or visit the district, don’t miss a trip to Coney Island for a baseball game.

For those who don’t know yet, the Brooklyn Cyclones, a single A affiliate of the New York Mets, are based in Coney Island at MCU Stadium, formerly known as Keyspan Stadium.

Have you always dreamed of playing baseball? Kids can run the bases after games on some days of the week, and so can 90-year-olds.

Also, there is not just regular stadium food, but kosher hot dogs at the kosher food vendor or if you are a vegetarian you should order some risotto balls from Arancini Bros (they have meat stuffed risotto balls too). Everything is so much fun.

Full disclosure: experiencing a Cyclones baseball is not the same as watching the Mets or Yankees. The games are sometimes good, sometimes not. But the crowd is great . It is a small stadium; you can touch the grass. And the atmosphere is very local, very friendly and very passionate. There is more schtick than you can shake a stick. Laugh with the pet. Grab the presents. Join the cheers.

Tickets to a cyclone game

Baseball, even the Brooklyn cyclones, is not cheap. You can get a seat in the field box for fifteen bucks though, which is pretty inexpensive. A seat in the bleacher will cost you ten dollars, which is less than the cost of an average movie ticket.

Decide early in the season, for example in March, if you want to get season tickets or one of the various packages offered. Of course, on a first come, first serve basis, and there are plenty of regular season ticket holders that just renew year after year.

Check the schedule to see when cyclones play at home. (While we love the Staten Island Yankees, it is therefore easier to get to the stadium in Coney Island MCU simply by hopping on the subway).

Tickets for various games are sold first. They go on sale in late winter / early spring. They are ‘loaded’, which means that each ticket comes with a coupon that can be applied to food, drinks, souvenirs and other items sold at the stadium.

Tickets for a single game will go on sale in April or May. Actual seat availability for specific dates is not announced until season ticket sales are underway.

Season ticket holders

Often times, season ticket holders will receive coupons that can be used for food, drinks, or merchandise at MCU Park.

If you love giveaways, you’ll love the fact that every time giveaways are given, you’ll receive them first, at the season headline entry, up to 15 minutes after the first scheduled release. And you’ll also receive a complimentary ticket to Cyclone Night at Citi Field in Queens.

Season ticket holders get the same seats for every game, and they also have the opportunity to purchase Mets tickets for special events like Opening Day and the Subway Series.

If a game is lost, you can redeem the unused ticket stubs for a future home game (exclusions apply based on annual schedules).

Mini Plan

If you don’t want to spend all summer going to the Cyclones games, opt for one of half a dozen “mini plans” that offer more affordable fixed dates and tickets.

Plan Kosher

There is also a Kosher Plan that “comes with all the benefits associated with other packages, but with the added bonus of a food coupon that can be redeemed at the Kosher Food Cart,” according to the stadium administration.

Other special packages

Visit the MCU website for a variety of other package. If you have an idea for a package that you would like to see next year, you can request it. Call the Cyclone Ticket Office at 718-37-BKLYN for more information.
