For the second consecutive year, MotoGP rider Jack Miller will once again take the start in the Australian Superbike championship. He will do it, once again, at The Bend, from November 25 to 27, aboard a Thriller Racing Ducati Panigale .
“I’m looking forward to getting back to Adelaide to race in the Australian Superbike Championship,” said Miller. “I had a great time last year with my friends and family, and I’m looking forward to doing it again.”
Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle called Miller’s entry a knock-on blow for the ASBK. “Last year we saw tremendous interest in The Bend’s ASBK run, and we hope that Jack’s return will be just as exciting,” he said.
“Not only did he bring a lot of national and international attention to our races, but he showcased the level and quality of ASBK that we have in Australia. We can’t wait to see him come to The Bend in November and that, like last year, he can have fun.” and put on a great show for the fans,” added Doyle.
The news also has the support of newly elected South Australian Prime Minister Peter Malinauskas, a motoring enthusiast who has overseen the return of the Adelaide 500.
“South Australia is a historic region doing major motorsports events, and I am pleased to see plans for The Bend test this November,” he said.
“Australia has given the world numerous motorcycle world champions, but South Australians haven’t had much opportunity to see them race in our region.”
“It will be a great opportunity for fans to see Jack Miller in action. I congratulate The Bend for securing Jack’s presence at their event,” he concluded.
The Bend manager Sam Shahin thanked Miller for his willingness to agree to race in ASBK, despite his busy MotoGP schedule. “Jack is an icon of the sport,” he said.
“It’s wonderful to see Australian drivers keep the interest in the sport back home, and are keen to come back and thrill local fans, just as they do all over the world.”
“This supports the health of motorcycling in Australia, supports the ASBK Championship and supports The Bend.”
