caramelo-medusa Obama Fisheries High School students have developed a new type of candy with a secret ingredient: giant jellyfish powder . Japanese students took a sample of their candy to the premises of the Japanese Space Agency (JAXA) yesterday in the hope that it will be included in the menu of astronauts in space.

Those who have tried it assure that the snack has a flavor that is both sweet and salty. The recipe: sugar, starch and powder from the Nomura giant jellyfish ( Nemopilema nomurai) . This powder is obtained by cooking the animal into a paste, which is then dried and ground.
