Lake Anne Plaza in Reston, Virginia, will host a film festival on the Lake Anne boardwalk this summer. Free outdoor movies will be shown on select Sundays. Take a date, family or a group of friends, bring the lawn chairs and a picnic and enjoy these popular movies under the stars. Several Lake Anne Plaza restaurants will also offer movie night menus to go. Movies will show rain or shine.

July 8 – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) Rated PG-13. Ferris Bueller has an uncanny ability to cut classes and get away with it. With the intention of making one last getaway before graduation, Ferris falls ill, “borrows” a Ferrari, and embarks on a day trip through the streets of Chicago.
July 22 – Toy Story (1995) Rated G. Woody, a good-hearted cowgirl doll owned by a boy named Andy, sees his position as Andy’s favorite toy in distress when his parents buy him a Buzz action figure. Lightyear.
August 12 – Breakfast at Tiffany (1961) Grade G. Based on the novel by Truman Capote, this is the story of a young woman in New York City who meets a young man when he moves into her apartment building. He is with an older woman who is very rich, but wants to be a writer.
August 26 – Lady Sings the Blues (1972) R. Diana pop star Diana Ross portrays legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday in this biographical drama. Beginning with Holiday’s traumatic youth, the film shows her first attempts at a singing career and her eventual rise to stardom, as well as her difficult relationship with Louis McKay.
