Popular events
The two events that the Loudoun County Fair is famous for are the Kiss-a-Pig fundraiser and the cattle auction. Community members are nominated to “kiss a pig,” and every dollar donated is considered one vote. The candidate who receives the most votes is kissed with a pig and the money raised is used to support the Loudoun County Fairgrounds.
The sale of cattle is a long-standing tradition, conducted in a live auction format. Selling livestock allows community buyers to purchase meat that has been carefully raised by members of the 4-H organization, a group that encourages youth to reach their full potential.
All proceeds from the fair are dedicated to improvements to the Loudoun County Fairgrounds and agricultural projects in the county. The fair is a 100 percent voluntary event.
Daily schedule
Different events are organized for specific times each day. You can start with a dairy milking demonstration and then try your luck at Bingo. Perhaps after enjoying the local delicacies of the county fair, you will attend the goat show or see some magic. Once the corn dogs are digested, it may be time for a carnival ride or two. Do you feel competitive? Enter an egg toss contest or a corn cob eating contest. End the day with the hypnotizing show or riding bulls.
Alcohol and pets (unless they are service pets) are not allowed on the fairgrounds.
