"LoL" with "Bully" Herbig wins the German Comedy Award

Actually, the Amazon show “LoL” shouldn’t be laughed at. Now the show has been awarded the German Comedy Prize.

Cologne – A big reason to laugh: The Amazon show “LoL – Last One Laughing” with entertainer Michael “Bully” Herbig (53) won the German Comedy Prize.

The show, in which several comedians are locked in one room but are not allowed to laugh, prevailed against the competition in the award ceremony in the category “Best Comedy Show”. “I’m really happy about this award, especially for the whole team. I haven’t done much. I just sat there and had fun, ”said Herbig in his acceptance speech. The decision was made by the audience through a vote.

Herbig is a kind of master of ceremonies on the show of the streaming service Amazon Prime, who uses cameras to monitor whether one of the candidates has laughed – and then distributes penalty points accordingly. In the first season, comedian Torsten Sträter had the fewest laughs – despite the sometimes violent stupidities of his opponents. The second season started this Friday. Also there are Anke Engelke (55) and Bastian Pastewka (49).

The German Comedy Prize is awarded year after year in Cologne. It was broadcast on television by Sat.1. dpa
