During the qualifying day for the 2022 MotoGP Italian Grand Prix, Marc Márquez announced that he was going to undergo surgery on his arm for the fourth time. The new entrance to the operating room of the Catalan pilot had the objective of solving the humerus injury that has accompanied him since 2020 and, just a couple of days later, #93 underwent surgery by Dr. Joaquín Sánchez-Sotelo at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester .
After successfully concluding his operation in the United States, Marc Márquez boarded the plane that brought him back to Spain last Monday. The Repsol Honda Team rider was accompanied for three days after surgery and, two weeks after undergoing surgery, the #93 has already been seen walking around Madrid, his current residence.
Although his recovery is progressing positively, this situation completely separates him from participating in the German Grand Prix, scheduled at the Sachsenring this Sunday. As a consequence, the German circuit is left without its best host, who leaves the search for a new king in MotoGP to their fate.
Thus, the #93 will be forced to enjoy the races from television. However, being faithful to his ambitious nature, the one from Cervera intends to speed up the process of getting back on asphalt as quickly as possible. Bodybuilding exercises, reinforcement of the lower body and the recent addition of a bit of cardio are witnesses to the progress in Marc Márquez’s humerus.
The Spanish pilot, accompanied by a sling on his arm, wanted to involve his followers in the process. Among the publications on his social networks, Marc has been seen training in the pool, enjoying his dogs and walking around his native country.
This step forward in Marc’s recovery is supervised by Samuel Antuña, author of his third and penultimate shoulder operation in December 2020.
