Marco Simoncelli will have a documentary 10 years after his death

A decade after Marco Simoncelli’s death (January 20, 1987 – October 23, 2011), Sky Original’s documentary SIC , produced by Sky, Fremantle Italia and Mowe, will be released in Nexo Digital cinemas only on 28 and December 29.

SIC will offer a comprehensive and emotional portrait of a unique champion. It tells the story of a boy who had a dream bigger than his own limits and who did everything possible to make it come true, of the courage that we have all shown in facing challenges that we thought were unattainable. In addition, it tells the story of the epic 2008 season, which crowned Marco Simoncelli in the 250cc category. A championship that began as an outsider , but the tough and always smiling Italian talent won hard and deservedly.

But SIC also tells the story of the life of a child, and then of a happy and carefree boy, always ready to have fun and entertain with a joke or putting a car on its side through the streets of Coriano , the quiet city of the Motor Valley. of the Romagna where he was born. A boy who, with the photos with Valentino Rossi in his diary, was convinced that one day he too would become world champion.

The story features the testimonies and memories of those who lived with him, starting with his father, the ever-present Paolo Simoncelli , his lifelong girlfriend Kate Fretti, as well as his idol and friend Valentino Rossi, the pilot Mattia Pasini , a friend of childhood and first teammate in the days of minibikes, Carlo Pernat, Álvaro Bautista , Dr. Claudio Costa, helmet designer Aldo Drudi, and other members of his team such as technical chief Aligi Deganello, mechanic Sanzio Malabrocca Raffaelli , or the then director of sports management of the Piaggio Group, Giampiero Sacchi.
