Márquez hallucinates with Razgatlioglu's brutal save: "Incredible!"

The Turkish Yamaha rider, Toprak Razgatlioglu, starred this Sunday in Estoril in one of the most spectacular actions of the year during the morning short race, Superpole Racing , in which he was fighting for victory until he suffered what seemed like a crash hopeless, but he managed a spectacular save, lifted the bike and ended up crossing the finish line second, behind Jonathan Rea.

The action was so spectacular and so Marc Márquez -style that even the MotoGP champion himself was amazed, and he made it known on his social networks: “Amazing!” (incredible!), wrote the one from Cervera, along with some photos where the brutality of the Turkish save was seen and, later, he shared a video of the action from the official SBK page, in which the hole that the action had caused in the suit of the Yamaha rider to lift the bike.

At the end of the race, Toprak explained how the spectacular maneuver had been carried out.

“We trained with Kenan (Sofuoglu, former rider and now his manager) at his karting track, it’s a small circuit and I always lose the front end and try to get it back. Only this time the bike was a bit heavier. I always look at Marc Márquez , it’s the same style! I remember in 2020, in Jerez, I tried to lift the bike but I couldn’t, so I had a small crash. However, this time I said: ‘I have to lift it!’ because I’m fighting for the victory. I’m very happy, we got good points and a second place is better than a crash. It’s been a strange weekend!” said the Turk.

Razgatlioglu, who last year won the series motorcycle championship breaking Rea’s incredible streak, this year has not yet managed to break his record of victories. The Turk has finished on the podium eight times in the nine races so far in 2022, with three second-place finishes in the last five. However, the costly retirement at Assen and not being able to take a win at one of his strongest circuits means he is 52 points behind Championship leader Alvaro Bautista.
