The Honda rider underwent surgery on his right arm for the fourth time on June 2 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where they sawed off his humerus, which had rotated more than 30 degrees, to realign it, an intervention that the surgeon Joaquín Sánchez-Sotelo , author of it, described it as “successful”.
Four weeks after that, this Tuesday Marc Márquez offered his feelings through a personal blog on the team sponsor’s website, assuring that after six weeks of surgery he will undergo an X-ray that will determine the way forward.
“The next deadline is to wait until week six –since the operation– to do an X-ray. Depending on how the result goes, we will follow one path or another in recovery. So until then I’m enjoying a bit of a vacation, because we can’t start the 100% recovery yet.”
However, this Wednesday, just 24 hours after that, Marc himself has uploaded a video to his social networks in which he can be seen starting to increase the intensity and level of workload in the gym, where he You can see him exercising his legs, body and left arm, the healthy one, while keeping the right arm, the injured one, in a sling.
Along with Marc appears his brother Alex Márquez, who after announcing last weekend in Assen that he will leave Honda at the end of the season to race, in 2023, with a Ducati from the Gresini team, he returned to Madrid, where both have now set their residence, to start a five-week rest period, until the World Cup returns on August 7 at Silverstone.
For now, Alex continues to work these first days of vacation, even if it is to keep his brother Marc company, who if all goes well, could reappear before the end of the season in order to prepare and get ready to start 2023 in top form. .
“There is no pain”
In another video that circulates through the networks, uploaded by a user, you can also see part of this training, in which Marc lifts weights with his left arm and a voice in the background is heard asking him: “No problem, no ?” and the pilot replies, “There is no pain.”
