Márquez leads in a flooded premiere in Portimao

Portimao.- After reappearing two weeks ago in Austin, where on Sunday he made a resounding comeback that catapulted him from last place to sixth place when he crossed the finish line, the Honda rider set the tone at the premiere in Portimao .

Márquez was three tenths ahead of Joan Mir, who with a final scuffle took the lead a few seconds from the end, and four tenths ahead of Marco Bezzecchi, who continues to burn stages with a very firm pace in his first year in the category of heavy motorcycles.

Johann Zarco finished fourth, already more than five tenths behind the first and ahead of Miguel Oliveira, the local idol, who finished fifth. Maverick Viñales once again highlighted the good harmony he seems to have found with his Aprilia after the Mandalika test, and was sixth fastest.

Immediately after the rider from Roses (Girona) Jorge Martín (seventh) was placed, while Pecco Bagnaia finished eighth, with a margin of half a tenth with respect to Jack Miller, his teammate in the official Ducati team, who was, together with Takkaki Nakagami and Luca Marini, who tested the hardness of the gravel of the Portuguese track.

Alex Márquez, for his part, closed a top ten from which he was left out, among others, Enea Bastianini (14th), the leader of the general points table, as well as Fabio Quartararo (18th), the current world champion.
