With the MotoGP World Championship paddock set up at the Sachsenring circuit, Alberto Puig, HRC team manager, declared in the morning that the brand with the golden wing hopes that the rider from Cervera (Lleida) gets back on the bike before the season ends.
In the afternoon, the Japanese team sent a statement giving some other details about the evolution of their leader, who underwent the fourth operation on his right arm less than three weeks ago.
Marc Márquez was operated on at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester (Minnesota), on the 2nd, by Dr. Joaquín Sánchez Sotelo , an eminence in the type of complex surgeries like the one the Catalan faced.
According to Honda’s note, Márquez is progressing favorably and can continue with his recovery, with his arm immobilized, even though from now on he will begin to do mobilization exercises in certain areas (shoulder and elbow).
“Today [for Saturday] I have undergone a medical check-up in Madrid, and the doctors are happy. My arm is immobilized and it will be like that for the next few weeks. My feelings so far are positive because I have no pain, and that is very important “says the runner.
“My condition allows me to rest and follow the rules of the doctors: a healthy diet, drink a lot and go for a walk with our dogs, because it is important that the body is not inactive. The most important thing that the doctors tell me is that now I have to be calm and be patient”, adds #93.
Given the distance between the surgeon who operated on him and the Spaniard’s residence (Madrid), both parties agreed that the periodic check-ups would be carried out by his trusted medical team, made up of doctors Samuel Antuña and Ángel Cotorro , who this time Sánchez Sotelo also joined.
“Marc underwent a medical check-up in Madrid with Dr. Antuña, Dr. Cotorro and myself, confirming a positive evolution of the surgical wound. Starting today, he will begin performing controlled exercises of passive mobilization of the shoulder and elbow until a new review in four weeks,” the statement concludes.
