Metroid returns this year! Metroid Dread will be the fifth installment of the saga and the long-awaited return to 2D [E3 2021]

Nintendo hasn’t forgotten the 35th anniversary of the Metroid saga, and while all Samus fans are looking forward to Metroid Prime 4, we won’t have to wait much longer for a totally new adventure: Metroid Dread will be the fifth installment in the saga. and will be available this year.

The essentials, officially presented as Metroid 5, Metroid Dread is a return to the metroidvanias in 2D scenarios that will look scandalous and like never before thanks to the hardware of Nintendo Switch.

A real reunion with the classic experience, since it will be the first new Metroid developed in the wake of the main saga in 19 years. Of course, Nintendo’s bounty hunter will face new dangers: DNA extraction machines known as EMMIs.

The launch date is set for October 8, 2021 , digital reservations are already open and, as expected, the return of Samus will be accompanied by two new Amiibo leaks. All a joy.

Last but not least, Metroid Dread will also feature its own special edition, which will include:

  • The game card
  • A SteelBook
  • A 190 page picture book
  • A collection of Illustrated Cards

Incentives packed into a box that presumably won’t take long to fly off the shelves.

Perhaps we have run out of Metroid Prime 4 , but the new adventure starting next October 8 we will wear the most updated version of one of the most iconic armor in video games.
