Mick Schumacher scored his first points at the British Grand Prix, finishing the event in eighth position, but the young German managed to improve on his result in Austria, where he crossed the finish line to sixth place .
The Haas driver battled Lewis Hamilton throughout Saturday’s 24-lap sprint race, managing to keep the seven-time world champion at bay for much of it, and found himself in the same situation during the early stages of the race. Sunday.
Although Hamilton was able to get on the podium at the end of the race, Schumacher made no mistakes and took his car to sixth, two places ahead of teammate Kevin Magnussen who had engine problems.
When asked what he had learned from his fights with Hamilton at the Red Bull Ring , Mick Schumacher replied: “The main thing I’ve learned is that everyone is human and everyone makes mistakes.”
“Everyone is under pressure [and] sometimes it gets to a point where mistakes are made.”
“So it’s important for me to know that, and not be afraid to fight anybody out there.”
Schumacher and Magnussen have scored points in two consecutive races, helping Haas climb to seventh in the constructors’ standings, beating AlphaTauri and Aston Martin.

The team has achieved these results despite the fact that they have not yet implemented a major upgrade package for their VF-22, which will arrive for the Hungarian Grand Prix at the end of July.
Mick called the team’s improved form a “refreshing change” for Haas, but felt his jump into the points zone “could have come much sooner”.
“We have shown the potential that the cars have, and we have also shown the potential that the drivers have,” said the driver.
“We know what we need to make our car fast. We had a strong car at the beginning of the year, obviously some [teams] brought updates. about very good, and others may have had problems with their package.
“So all of that completes the result that we’ve seen today.”
