Cheste.- The Italian brand dominated the first three rows of the starting grid of the Valencia MotoGP Grand Prix , the last of the season. The result was brilliant, the 11th pole of the season for a Ducati and the fourth for Jorge MartÃn, while in each and every one of the races of the course, an Italian motorcycle was in the front row.
Jack Miller , who hasn’t taken a pole this year but has scored eight front rows, five of them in the last six races, said he had tried everything.
“I didn’t miss a thing, I gave it my all. I had a good run with the first tyre. With the second I couldn’t get out of T1 well, I saw the yellow flag for Pecco Bagnaia ‘s crash and although I knew I was going to remove the lap I wanted to push, I left the line and on the last lap I was going flat out, totally committed to getting pole, but I crashed,” explained the Australian.
Despite the fall, Miller will start third and sees himself with the resources to seek a new victory.
“We have a good pace. During FP4 I did 18 laps on the hard tire because that’s what we had planned with the team, but I didn’t feel good. I think I’ll go for the medium compound for the race.”
With four Ducati in the top five on the grid, Ducati’s dream treble is once again possible.
“I think more about the team championship and we are going to go full throttle for it,” he said after winning Ducati and the constructors’ championship last week in Portimao.
“Furthermore, Pecco has won three wins this year and I would like to be at that club adding my third win of the season”, together with those achieved in Jerez and Portimao at the beginning of the year.
That right now the Ducati is the best bike on the grid is a general opinion and they asked him which riders had contributed something in particular to that growth.
“There have been many riders in recent years at Ducati . I don’t think the progress is due to one in particular, it’s a team effort and by continuously joining all the comments and having good communication and harmony, we have managed to improve. Pramac riders, I’ve been there and I know what they bring, and together we’re moving the bike forward. It can’t be attributed to a single rider, we all collaborate, from the test team with Michele Pirro to those of us who are here now”, in reference to Bagnaia, MartÃn and himself, protagonists of the press conference after the pole positions in Valencia .
