In the midst of the fight of three riders for the position of Pecco Bagnaia’s teammate in the official Ducati team next season, his current garage neighbor recognized this Sunday, after finishing second in Le Mans, that the most logical thing is that it be Enea Bastianini whoever gets the job. During the post-race press conference, in which Bastianini achieved his third win of the year, Miller was asked about the question.
“What do you want me to tell you? If you add two plus two, he has won three races, he is driving very well and he is Italian, with that I tell you everything,” he made his logic clear.
Miller was the only driver among those fighting for the podium on the soft front tyre.
“Without a doubt we have managed to surprise some people, people were surprised that I had the soft forward, I understood that I had to have the soft, it allowed me to know where I could push, I knew what my rhythm was, I got to the front and I had an exit dreamlike”.
“In turn 1 everything was very fair, I lost a bit on the first lap when Rins arrived, I didn’t know what was happening and a Suzuki passed me, I got scared, but I saw that it had gone out and I was trying to do my best not to collide with the rest, and you have to thank him for the effort”.

“I had a bit of dejavú in that area, I had no more saved in my hat, I gave my best”, summed up his career the Australian, who came first, but was passed by Pecco Bagnaia who in the end fell and left him the second place on a platter.
“Pecco [Bagnaia] is very strong in tire management, but in the end he had a small problem and I saw that it was going to cost him with the front end, I had been suffering for 12 laps with the front tire. At the beginning he had the pace, I let him pass and I didn’t want to bother him, he wanted to get away, he set a good pace but he had difficulties on the right flank, in turn 8 and the last turn”.
“When Enea [Bastianini] arrived, he passed me and I saw the fight with Pecco, who came out pushing Enea to the limit, it would have been a wonderful Ducati triplet 1-2-3, but it couldn’t be,” he lamented.
Miller, an Australian, always celebrates his podiums by drinking the cava in his boot, something he couldn’t do this time.
“I felt a lot of support from the fans, I had a fantastic time this weekend at Le Mans, that’s why in the end I threw my gloves and boots at them. That meant I had to drink the prosecco from Enea’s [Bastianini’s] boot. ] and the truth is that it was not pleasant”, he said between laughs.
