Miller's pole at Misano, where Bagnaia minimizes damage

With the asphalt half dry but with a permanent fine rain that reduced the confidence of the pilots, the Australian confirmed that he is a master in these circumstances and secured first place on the grid.

This is the first time that the rider from Townsville will start without traffic since the 2018 Argentine Grand Prix, a blow that confirms his state of grace. Miller is the eighth different driver to take pole position so far this season, equaling the record set in 2020.

Bagnaia finished second, just 15 thousandths behind his neighbor in the workshop, even though he will have to start fifth as a result of the three penalty positions that will be applied to him for irresponsible driving.

Enea Bastianini will inherit that second position, while Marco Bezzecchi will close a first row monopolized by Ducati. Maverick Viñales, the fourth, will open the second, which will close Johann Zarco, in two lines that will cover prototypes of Italian brands.

Luca Marini was seventh fastest, while Fabio Quartararo, the current champion and leader of the general points table, took the eighth fastest time. Ninth, right next to him, will start Aleix Espargaró, and Miguel Oliveira closed the top ten.

Of those who did not manage to get into the second heat of the qualifying round, Jorge Martín stood out in 13th place , who was caught in the rain from behind. Alex Márquez, 17th, was the first among the Honda riders, ahead of Andrea Dovizioso (18th), who will hang up the suit three this Sunday.
