“I did not expect to have to go through Q1 at all. But in the morning nothing went well. I was not able to go fast in the third free test or in the fourth. Then we made a big change to the bike that worked,” he summed up the Balearic, who at all times was aware of the limitation of facing the decisive moment of qualifying with a single soft rubber.
The Suzuki rider points to Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo as the main candidates to fight for victory this Sunday, although he believes that he is not far away. “Anyway,” he said, “I don’t really know what pace I have, because I couldn’t do more than three or four laps in a row.”
