With three months of competition remaining to finish the 2022 season, the MotoGP grid for the 2023 season is almost set.
The last movements have already left only two unknowns: who will be Pol Espargaró’s partner on the other GasGas Tech3 KTM, and who will accompany Rins on the LCR . Therefore, only two places remain to be defined on a grid that, after the departure of Suzuki, will once again have 22 motorcycles after 2022 with up to 24.

Which MotoGP riders and teams change for 2023?
As you can see, what will happen between 2022 and 2023 will be many team changes, and few starts and finishes on the grid. In fact, beyond a Stefan Bradl who knew perfectly well that he would only be a starter while Marc Márquez was injured, at the moment there will only be two riders who made their debut in this MotoGP course: Darryn Binder, who is looking for a return to Moto2 after closing the door of the RNF and Remy Gardner, who KTM has left without a place for 2023. The marches could be three if LCR chooses to replace Nakagami with current Moto2 championship leader Ai Ogura .
In terms of news, although not confirmed, GasGas Tech3 is expected to accompany his signing Pol Espargaró with fellow Spaniard Augusto Fernández, who is just one point behind Ogura in the intermediate category.
Regarding team changes, Joan Mir joined Honda when Suzuki disappeared, Bastianini moved to the official Ducati team from the Gresini satellite, Jack Miller signed for KTM after leaving Ducati, Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández debuted with the RNF , also without Suzuki Alex Rins found a place in LCR , Pol Espargaró in GasGas Tech3 after Honda did not renew him and Alex Márquez signed for Gresini.
As for teams, in addition to the aforementioned departure from Suzuki, it should be noted that the WithU RNF passes into the hands of Aprilia, which will have up to four bikes on the grid in 2023.

The official HRC team keeps its spearhead, Marc Márquez , who has a contract until 2024 and who hopes in 2023 to put his ordeal of injuries behind him and play the full season.
Next to him, after Pol Espargaró did not achieve the expected results, they have not renewed him and have placed Joan Mir, taking advantage of the fact that the Spaniard was free after Suzuki left the grid.
Monster Yamaha, riders confirmed for 2023
- Fabio Quartararo
- Franco Morbidelli
No changes in the official Yamaha team for 2023. Fabio Quartararo renewed until 2024 and is on his way to what would be his second consecutive world championship, and his partner for the second year will be Franco Morbidelli, who has a contract until the end of 2023.
Lenovo Ducati, riders confirmed for 2023
- Pecco Bagnaia

WithU Aprilia RNF, riders confirmed for 2023
- Miguel Oliveira
- Raul Fernandez
Total renovation in the RNF, since in addition to changing the Yamaha for the Aprilia (which will finally have a satellite team), it was the last team to announce its signings, two new faces for the project, both from KTM. On the one hand the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira comes from the official team and on the other Raúl Fernández comes from Tech3.
Pramac Ducati, riders confirmed for 2023

Another of the teams without changes. For the third year, Zarco and Martín will be partners in the Ducati satellite, after the Spaniard failed to get a seat in the official formation.
LCR Honda, riders confirmed for 2023
- Alex Rins
Honda took over the two Suzuki riders after the departure of the Japanese manufacturer, and placed Alex Rins in the LCR satellite after the departure of Alex Márquez. Rins will ride an official bike and will have a factory contract. His partner will be Japanese, but it is not clear if they will renew Nakagami , who will play it in the last races of 2022, or promote Ogura , who aspires to reach MotoGP as Moto2 champion.
It is one of only two unknowns left.
GasGas Tech3, pilots confirmed for 2023
- Pol Espargaro
It is the other question to be resolved. The experiment with Remy Gardner did not go well, and the Austrian manufacturer signed Pol Espargaró as the first driver, who returns to what was his home, although this time in the satellite team.
His partner is not confirmed. Remy Gardner said that he sees himself out, and everything points to the rise of Augusto Fernández , who is playing for the Moto2 title.
