Portimao.- In a series of dizzying laps, Bagnaia set a new absolute record for the Portuguese track. Jack Miller will start at his side, the second, certifying another double on the grid for Ducati, while Joan Mir will close the front row, something that the Mallorcan had not achieved since his time in Moto3 (2017) – he started third last year in the Styrian GP due to a sanction against Zarco–.Â
The second row will be formed by Jorge MartÃn (fourth), Johann Zarco (fifth) and Pol Espargaró, who will start sixth despite facing the second qualifying round with a single motorcycle, as a result of the accident he suffered in the fourth free practice .Â
Behind them, Fabio Quartararo will start seventh, the new champion, who had a fast lap canceled by the stewards for not respecting the yellow flags. Following the Yamaha rider will be Alex Márquez (eighth) and Franco Morbidelli (ninth), while Iker Lecuona will close the top ten .Â
Outside of it was Alex Rins (eleventh), as well as the two members of Aprilia, Aleix Espargaró (14th) and Maverick Viñales (18th). Also Valentino Rossi, who in his penultimate appearance before retiring will start 16th.
