The Ducati rider, second in the general championship table, just one point behind the leader, Fabio Quartararo, is one of the main favorites to win on Sunday, in what would be his first MotoGP victory.
Another of the favorite theoreticians is Rins , very solvent both in the morning and in the afternoon, and eager to change the inertia of the last three races, settled with three zeros.
Third fastest was Franco Morbidelli , who was less than two tenths behind Bagnaia and half a tenth ahead of Quartararo (fourth).
Fifth place was awarded to Brad Binder , who was two tenths ahead of Miguel Oliveira (sixth), his KTM teammate, who seems to have taken a step forward.
The seventh fastest lap went to Takaaki Nakagami , the best among the Honda riders and the only one who provisionally has a place reserved in the second qualifying round (Q2).
Aleix Espargaró finished eighth, while Jack Miller (ninth) and Johann Zarco closed a top ten from which several illustrious names were left out.
The first of them, Joan Mir , the world champion (11th), who was one tenth ahead of Marc Márquez (12th). Pol Espargaró was 13th, while Maverick Viñales finished 17th, even though his morning practice time gave him a momentary pass to Q2.
It is not the case of Valentino Rossi, penultimate 1.5 seconds from the head.
