MotoGP: Bagnaia sets record pole at Motorland

Alcaniz. – The Italian, who already started without traffic in Qatar, at the start of the championship, is running as one of the main candidates for victory this Sunday, in a scenario in which the Ducati can express their tremendous power.

The Turinese nailed a turn so perfect that it allowed him to lower in three tenths the absolute record for the track, held by Marc Márquez since 2015 , when it was still run with Bridgestone tires .

Second place will be occupied by Jack Miller , Bagnaia ‘s teammate in the official team of the Borgo Panigale brand, who certified the first double on Saturday of the season  for the builder of the red motorcycles.

Fabio Quartararo , the undisputed leader of the general table, will close the first row of the grid, while Marc Márquez (fourth), Jorge Martín (fifth) and Aleix Espargaró (sixth) will form the second.

Joan Mir , the current world champion, could not get past seventh position and will open the third row, from which Pol Espargaró (eighth) and Enea Bastianini will also start, who will finish ninth, his best starting position in the category of heavy bikes.

Alex Marquez will start 14th, just ahead of Cal Crutchlow (15th), Quartararo’s provisional teammate in the official Yamaha team.

In his first qualifying session dressed in the colors of Aprilia, Maverick Viñales could not get into the second qualifying round (Q2) and will start 19th, surprisingly ahead of Alex Rins (20th) and Valentino Rossi , who will do so penultimate.
