MotoGP - Márquez "gets the most out of" the Honda in Thailand

In his third grand prix after the fourth operation on his right arm, Marc Márquez once again took a small step forward and seemed more and more recovered. In the end, in Q2 of the Thai Grand Prix , the Honda rider came in red, improving the time of the first, when he had a threat of falling in the last corner from the entrance to the finish line that prevented him from being in the front row.

“Maybe yes, or maybe not, but it has been no,” said Márquez when they reminded him of that moment in qualifying.

“We have done a good Q1 and a good Q2, but I have only been able to use a new tire, the first one was used,” recalled the Honda rider, who has saved a soft rear tire in case it is necessary to use it tomorrow in the race.

“The lap went well for me until that last corner, the same one where I failed in FP3, but we know what is happening, where we have failed and we know how to fix it, for tomorrow we will try to be more consistent at that point,” he explained.

Marquez said after his comeback that the first save on a right hander, the side of the injured arm, would mark his recovery as complete.

“I made a right-hand save but it was from the rear of the bike”, the expectation lowered a bit.

“It is the first weekend in which I am getting the most out of the Honda , which costs, costs a lot. Now I am riding as I want, you see scares, you see that the bike is dislocated under braking, the last year and a half I had to go very fine, which is not my style, but now I’m starting to be able to push”, valued the Honda rider.

“There are still riders faster than us, but little by little I’m feeling better,” he added.

Heading into the race and starting from the third row, nobody rules out Márquez in the fight.

“The race will be long, there are the Ducati and a certain Quartararo, we are in an equal rhythm to be fighting from fifth to tenth place, the Ducati with worn rubber are capable of staying very constant in the 31 lows, and there they are going to set the difference”, settled the one from Cervera.
