Marc Márquez tries to make up for lost time. The Honda champion got back on the bike in the Sepang tests after leaving behind the diplopia he suffered, and carried out comparative tests with three chassis available in his box (two from 2022 and one from 2021) and with two different aerodynamic sets.
Márquez, having missed the Jerez tests last November, had not had the opportunity to evaluate the new front wings on the sides of the fairing. The #93 first came out on the track with the old version characterized by a single profile, a single wing , while later he was able to experience the double wing that Pol Espargaró had already been able to test in Andalusia and that he continues to use today.

Repsol Honda has dedicated resources to aerodynamic research on the RC213V , showing much more sophisticated fins than usual that are a clear attempt to increase the vertical load to avoid front wheelie when accelerating.

The solution adopted by the Japanese stands out for its two rather downward-sloping profiles, which are closer together than in the more open versions we’ve seen lately. The upper part is crooked and the pointed apex aligns with the airbox of the front fairing following the concept of the previous one.
This flow conveyor exhibits useful blowing to increase load without excessive increase in drag. Márquez is testing in these first tests after his return the behavior of each of the ideas and advances step by step, aware that he must “discover” the material that his colleagues have already been able to know.
