Honda captured much of the attention this Tuesday at the Misano test by putting the bike on the track for the first time for the 2022 season. The person in charge of debuting it was the tester Stefan Bradl , who did 34 laps in a morning in which only eight pilots rolled because of the rain that fell at night.
In the afternoon it was the turn of the officials and the first to do so was Marc Márquez. The #93 was mounted on an RC213V that is very striking on the outside. It presents a completely new aerodynamics, with the vertical air intake and the fins that are more dropped. The Catalan also rode this year’s bike and in total he did 47 laps to be 15th, one second off the best time of the day set by Pecco Bagnaia.
At the end, Márquez commented on the first sensations with the 2022 bike: “Today we tried the new bike. A very new bike in many aspects. First time it was on the track. There has been a lot of work. I have been in the box for a long time , because physically I can’t do many laps. Tomorrow, with the configuration that we have prepared today, Pol will try it too. Let’s keep working because it is a quite different concept. There are very positive and also very negative points. Now it’s time to make a balance to make it work well”.

His teammate Pol Espargaró had to continue working on this season’s bike, with which he finished second, just one tenth behind Bagnaia, improving on his best lap from last weekend at the San Marino GP. On Wednesday he will test the 2022 RC213V.
“We’ve had a good day, both in fast lap and pace, and I’m happy. It’s been a positive day. We’ve tested a lot of things, especially aerodynamics that we haven’t been able to test during the season. It’s a good time, because it’s also we have a race here soon. We thought they could go well, they worked,” said the #44 .
