The old regular road races are no longer enough. Why hit the pavement when you can climb obstacles, jump over fire, and best of all, end your day covered in mud? If you agree with this, you’re in luck, because the mud craze has caught on in the Milwaukee area, and there are several races in the area during the summer / fall of 2014.

What: The Tough Mudder is a 10 to 12 mile course, and it’s definitely the most challenging of all the mud stretches in the Milwaukee area. While this race doesn’t take itself too seriously, it is still strongly recommended that runners train for it, and one would probably want to be reasonably fit before starting this one.
