Mud runs in the Milwaukee area

The old regular road races are no longer enough. Why hit the pavement when you can climb obstacles, jump over fire, and best of all, end your day covered in mud? If you agree with this, you’re in luck, because the mud craze has caught on in the Milwaukee area, and there are several races in the area during the summer / fall of 2014.

Mud Trails in the Milwaukee Area

How Much: The price ranges from $ 30 to $ 70 depending on when you sign up and the wave you sign up for.
Where: Genesee Lake Road Park, 37505 Genesee Lake Rd., Oconomowoc
  • Warrior dash
    When: Saturday, August 2
What: A 5km race with obstacles like the cargo climb, which has you scale an obstacle covered with cargo nets, and the warrior roast, where you jump over fire and a lot of mud. This race can be run by people of different fitness levels, although competitive runners do it for time. The race fee includes a fuzzy warrior helmet.
How Much: The price ranges from $ 60 to $ 90 depending on when you sign up. No registration after July 29.
Where: Milford Hills Hunt Club, W5670 French Rd., Johnson Creek, WI 53038
  • Dirty Girl Mud Run
    When: Saturday, August 16
What: A 5km race with obstacles like the Jail Break hurdle jump and the hangover, where you fight your way through dangling tires. This race can be done by women of all fitness levels, and is not timed.
How Much: The price ranges from $ 55 to $ 100 depending on when you sign up. There is no registration after August 15th.

  • Tough Mudder
When: Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7
What: The Tough Mudder is a 10 to 12 mile course, and it’s definitely the most challenging of all the mud stretches in the Milwaukee area. One obstacle includes live cables, for example, and another greased monkey bars on a frozen pond. While this race doesn’t take itself too seriously, it is still strongly recommended that runners train for it, and one would probably want to be reasonably fit before starting this one.
How Much: The price ranges from $ 69 to $ 185 depending on when you sign up. No registration after September 5.
Where: Road America, N7390 State Highway 67, Plymouth
