Nakagami crashes the Aprilia and Ducati party

Mugello.- Takaaki Nakagami managed two fastest laps to set the best time of the FP1 of the Italian Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend at the Tuscany circuit, stopping the clock at 1.46.662 to sneak into the Italian fight between the Ducati of Pecco Bagnaia and the Aprilia of Aleix Espargaró, who were leading the session for many minutes, exchanging the first position, and finishing third and second, respectively.

Fourth was Alex Rins, with the Suzuki, managing to overtake the Ducati 2021 of Enea Bastianini, who was fifth ahead of Maverick Viñales and Jack Miller, seventh, completing the presence of five Italian motorcycles in those first seven places. The top 10, and the provisional classification for Q2, were completed by Pol Espargaró, Johann Zarco and Luca Marini, the latter two also riding a Desmosedici.

The leader of the World Championship, Fabio Quartararo, finished 11th and as the first Yamaha, ahead of the tester and guest Michele Pirro (Ducati). Joan Mir was 15th, just ahead of Franco Morbidelli, with Marc Márquez 19th and Jorge Martín 20th. At the end of the session, all the drivers arrived with a medium used rear tire. 22nd finished the tester and guest of Aprilia, Lorenzo Savadori, who wore on his RS-GP a rear wing installed on the tail, similar to that of a car, a piece never seen, until now, in a MotoGP and that may be a new step in the aerodynamic race of the category.
