Nakagami, without serious injuries and sorry for the accident with Rins and Bagnaia

After turning green, the traffic light at the Catalan Grand Prix witnessed one of the most critical moments of the weekend: Alex Rins, Pecco Bagnaia and Takaaki Nakagami crashed in the first corner of the Catalan track, leaving a fall on the asphalt multiple that immediately worried the Spanish fans.

However, the multiple crash was more than just a zero in the box for the drivers. The Japanese hit the rear wheel of Pecco Bagnaia with his head, starring in a terrible accident that ended with the three riders of the premier class on the ground of the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya.

As the images of the race testified, the Japanese’s front end was closed, impacting with the wheel of the Italian’s Ducati and leading to a broken wrist for Alex Rins.

The action of the LCR rider sparked controversy in the MotoGP paddock, and 48 hours after his accident, Takaaki Nakagami spoke publicly, issuing an apology to the riders involved.

“First of all, I want to apologize to Alex Rins, Suzuki, Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati for the accident at turn 1. I am very sorry to have destroyed his career,” the Japanese introduced on his social networks. “It was scary, but luckily I’m fine, no serious injuries. I’ll try to recover as soon as possible.”


The Japanese pilot was quickly transferred to the hospital, where he underwent tests to rule out any serious injury that would imply an immediate loss that would endanger his physical abilities. Following his absence from testing on Monday, Takaaki Nakagami issued an apology confirming the physical condition of the LCR driver.
