That comes at an inopportune time: Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. But with a corona case in the family it will be very difficult.
Oslo – The daughter of the Norwegian Crown Prince couple, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, has tested positive for the corona virus. The royal family announced this on Sunday evening.
The 17-year-olds are now isolated at home at Gut Skaugum. The rest of the family has not yet tested positive.
Nevertheless, the incident has consequences for everyone. Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit had to cancel all events in the next few days – including those related to their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. Among other things, they had planned a meeting with young people to commemorate the founding of their fund 20 years ago. The so-called Crown Prince Couple Fund is intended to help young people who risk falling out of society. It was founded on the day of their wedding on August 25, 2001.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra is second in line to the throne in Norway after her father, Crown Prince Haakon. She is attending high school in Oslo. dpa
