Oasis of the Seas: youth zone for kids cruises

The Youth Zone, a haven for children and teens, is one of seven diverse neighborhoods on the Oasis of the Seas cruise ship, including Central Park, Boardwalk with the AquaTheater, Royal Promenade, Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center and entertainment venue.

Many kid- and teen-friendly adventures are found within the Youth Zone, covering a total expansive area of over 28,700 square feet (2,669 square meters) including, Kids Avenue, a central boulevard that connects kids to dedicated Adventure Ocean spaces. and various thematic games. areas; the cruise line nursery for infants and toddlers (six months and older); and areas for adolescents with state-of-the-art technology.

Youth programs

The Adventure Ocean youth program aboard Oasis of the Seas introduces the cruise line curriculum offered to young guests throughout the fleet, but with a new and improved focus, including spaces created and equipped specifically for designated activities that allow for a stronger program. All Royal Caribbean Adventure Ocean and Teen programs are led by college-educated counselors whose goal is to create memorable experiences for the cruise line’s youngest guests.

The addition of the Royal Babies and Tots nursery is popular for families with young children. This colorful space serves as a fully staffed nursery where children can be cared for by trained Royal Caribbean professionals, as well as host various playgroups.

Open daily, the nursery offers parents options to drop off children for the day and night, carefully maintaining an optimal staff-to-child ratio. Free time play is also offered daily, creating an interactive environment where parents and children can bond while playing with a variety of toys.

Within the Youth Zone, Kids Avenue serves as the main promenade for young cruisers to access the various areas of Adventure Ocean. Crayola arts and crafts activities, scavenger hunts, talent shows, and other age-specific scheduled and guided activities are offered to three Adventure Ocean age groups, each with their own space: Aquanauts, ages 3 to 3. 5 years; Explorers, 6 to 8 years old; and Voyagers, ages 9-11.

Play areas and activities

Additionally, Oasis of the Seas features exciting new common play areas, including Kid’s Arcade for video games; the Workshop, where families can learn skills to create scrapbooks or create personalized jewelry; Imagination Studio where children can explore the world of color and imagination through Adventure Art by Crayola; a fully equipped laboratory for the Adventure Science Lab, where Einsteins-in-the-making can expand their knowledge; Play, a circular area where children can play and participate in a variety of sports and games; and Adventure Ocean Theater, the first children’s theater at sea, complete with a stage and curtains, audience seating and state-of-the-art production equipment, where children of all ages can learn about theater productions, participate in talent shows , or sign up for hip hop dance classes.

Only for teenagers

The teen-only spaces are located one deck above the Adventure Ocean areas and adjacent to the ship’s sports deck, where kids can test their skills in one of the ship’s two FlowRider surf simulators; the miniature golf course, Oasis Dunes; or the sports court for volleyball and basketball games. The physical separation of teen-only spaces from Adventure Ocean’s younger guests is one of many surprising improvements implemented as a recommendation from the Royal Caribbean Teen Advisory Board, a group of teens recruited to identify which youth between the ages 12 and 17 year olds would like to see them aboard future Royal Caribbean ships.

Royal Caribbean’s teen-only favorite spaces, Fuel Disco and The Living Room, are on board the Oasis of the Seas, only bigger and more modern. The Living Room is the ideal place for teens to relax and socialize at the mocktail bar, serving non-alcoholic soft drinks and juice concoctions; learn to spin and mix music in Scratch DJ 101 classes, a part of the Royal Caribbean Scratch DJ Academy; or surf the web and keep in touch with friends through the bank of dedicated space computer stations.

Teens can also level up at Fuel, a nightclub that has a modern vibe, where they can hang out with friends, and a dance floor, where they can show off their moves. A spacious outdoor terrace adjacent to these locations offers teens more opportunities to make new friends during their cruise vacation.

Other familiar places

In addition to the areas within the Youth Zone and teen-only venues aboard Oasis of the Seas, there are also special attractions for children of all ages in the ship’s other neighborhoods. Along the boardwalk, children and teens can shop at retail stores tailored to their interests, and babies and toddlers can ride the carousel with their parents or enjoy the space to climb and play, inspired by a gas station. 1950s style next to the popular Johnny Rockets restaurant. . The lively Challengers Arcade has also returned aboard Oasis of the Seas and is packed with the latest video games that are sure to entertain kids and teens.

At the Vitality Spa and Fitness Zone, teens and tweens can enjoy a menu of spa options specially designed for them in a dedicated space at the Vitality at Sea Spa.

A wide selection of activities for families and guests of all ages can be found in all Oasis of the Seas neighborhoods. Family-friendly innovations range from the industry’s first amphitheater, the AquaTheater, featuring theatrical diving shows and spectacular water and light shows; the first zip line at sea that stretched 82 feet long and suspended nine decks over the exciting Boardwalk area; and in the pool and sports area, the H2O Zone water park with its small children’s pool and the first beach pool in the sea, with a true-to-form sloping entrance and colorful chairs and umbrellas to provide guests with the best beach experience.
