All of you who have a copy of Overwatch can now access the free download of patch 1.58 , which will especially delight those with an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, because thanks to this update the performance and quality of the game on new Microsoft consoles.
Thanks to it, an option has been implemented so that users can choose between three graphic configurations that change the resolution or the variable refresh rate at which the image will be seen. In fact, Blizzard points out that for one of its modes it is necessary to have a television that has support for 120 Hz or VRR (Variable-Refresh-Rate) to be compatible.
Exactly the three ways you can choose will be the following :
- Resolution : This mode optimizes the resolution at the cost of reducing the image quality somewhat. In Xbox Series X it happens to be seen in 4K / 60 Hz and in Xbox Series S in 1440p / 60 Hz.
- Balanced : with this second mode, image quality is prioritized at the cost of its resolution. On Xbox Series X it goes to 1440p / 60 Hz and on Xbox Series S to 1080p / 60 Hz.
- Framerate : The last of these modes is focused on the frame rate per second at the cost of reducing the quality and resolution of the image somewhat. On Xbox Series X it goes to 1440p / 120 Hz and on Xbox Series S to 1080p / 120 Hz.
What Blizzard has not indicated is whether all these improvements will eventually come to PS5 sooner or later, but for the moment, until further notice, they seem to be exclusive to Xbox Series X / S. For the rest, it introduces a long list of improvements and corrections in many aspects of the FPS, so you can check everything it offers in the patch notes from here.
