After riding the Aprilia for the first time in mid-April at the Jerez Circuit, Andrea Dovizioso got back on the RS-GP this Tuesday and Wednesday, this time at Mugello.
Aprilia did not provide times and only pointed out that the Italian did 23 laps on the first day and 22 on the second. The three-time MotoGP world runner-up was unable to comply with the planned work program due to the intermittent appearance of rain.
Despite the good performances that Aleix Espargaró is making this season with the RS-GP, Dovizioso once again ruled out the possibility of making a wild card .
However, Dovizioso and Aprilia are evaluating the possibility of carrying out another test next June to continue with the work.
“Despite the adverse weather, these have been two important days. We have tested the RS-GP in the wet for the first time and the indications we have received from an experienced rider like Andrea are very valuable. I must say that Andrea rode quite well in these conditions, with quite interesting times. There is also an aspect that is less related to pure performance and more to reciprocal knowledge that obviously improves with each appointment. The two days in Mugello were an opportunity to learn to know each other better and work well together,” commented Romano Albesiano , Aprilia’s technical director,
