Valentino Rossi announced his retirement at the beginning of August and only two weeks later he revealed that he was going to be the father of a girl for the first time. And that has been the theme chosen by the multi-time Italian champion to decorate his helmet for the Misano Grand Prix , which could be his last special design in MotoGP.
As usual in his home grand prix, il Dottore waited until the first practice session on Saturday to show off a helmet with a large pink bow, which would be the gift that life gives to the rider.
“Who knows who you are, who knows who you will be, we will find out only by living”, reads on the gift card that can be seen on the back of the helmet, a chorus from a song by Lucio Battisti .
A song that is precisely titled ‘Con il nastro rosa’, that is, ‘With the pink bow’ that has #46 on the top of the helmet.
It should be borne in mind that at the end of October the World Championship will return to Misano for a second race, which opens the door for Valentino to have a final decoration of his splendid career reserved for that event.
