Pecco Bagnaia added his third victory in MotoGP at the Algarve Grand Prix. The race was stopped two laps from the end due to an accident between Iker Lecuona and Miguel Oliveira. Joan Mir made it difficult for the Italian at the start, but he eventually relented and settled for second place.
Jack Miller completed the podium, favored by the red flag that prevented Alex Márquez’s attack, fourth in his best performance of the season.
Fabio Quartararo, already world champion since the previous appointment in Misano, was involved in a battle with the Ducati of MartÃn and Zarco for fifth position before ending the day with a crash five laps from the end, thus garnering his first retirement it’s from the season.
With Bagnaia’s win and Miller’s third place, Ducati secured the constructors’ championship.
The 2021 MotoGP season will close next weekend with the Comunitat Valenciana Grand Prix at Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
