Despite the usual secrecy of the teams regarding the pieces they test, in the two days of the Jerez test some novelties could be seen. Ducati took three bikes from 2022, which were divided up, Pecco Bagnaia, Jack Miller , Jorge MartÃn and Johann Zarco . In addition to a new engine, the Desmosedici’s long exhaust pipe on the right side and a fairing that the pilots were delighted with.
Honda put two versions of the 2022 bike on track. Alex Márquez and Takaaki Nakagami tested them on Thursday, while on Friday it was Pol Espargaró ‘s turn.
Suzuki brought in a host of new parts: new engine, frame, swingarm, and fairing. Joan Mir and Alex Rins finished with renewed spirits.
At Yamaha there was total hermeticism of parts and novelties, although Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli were seen shooting with the 2022 M1, which in addition to the engine featured a new swingarm and some electronics, as explained by the Frenchman.
While Aprilia brought little to nothing to the test, KTM incorporated both visual and mechanical upgrades, most notably a new Ducati-style winged fairing and a system that automatically lowers the bike when it detects the suspension is at its maximum.
