Just 110 days later, after a forced absence due to his fourth recovery in his right arm, this Friday Marc Márquez returned to the MotoGP world championship. In the first of two opening day sessions at Motorland Aragón , Márquez finished 11th, with 18 laps and a best lap of 1:49.207 after three runs of seven, six and five laps around the Spanish track.
He finished half a second behind the leader of the session, Aleix Espargaró on the Aprilia .

In the second and last practice session on Friday, Márquez once again repeated the number of runs (three outings) to reach 15 laps, closing the day with 33 laps in total between FP1 and FP2.
There, with the white tire and a best time of 1:47.761, he got into the top 10 to provisionally position himself in Q2 positions, among those who would aspire to pole position on Saturday.
He finished three and a half tenths behind the rider who led that second free practice session, Jorge Martín with the Ducati .
