The trophy system that PlayStation games have has been accompanying us since PS3. It is seen that Sony has thought that it was time to update it and make some modifications to it in order to improve it even more .
Currently the maximum level that can be reached is 100, which will only be available to those who have unlocked thousands of trophies or have an immense collection of video games. As the figure was not too large, Sony has wanted to increase the range of levels and raise it to 999 .
That’s not to say that those at level 100 have another 899 ahead of them. Instead the system will automatically set a new level for each user depending on how many trophies (and their quality) they have unlocked to date. For example, one of the examples given is that someone at level 12 will jump to a new level below 200.
This also affects how progress will be calculated . In this way, the first levels will rise faster than until now and it will cost more and more, consistently, to climb to the new top. Also, Platinum trophies will award more points than ever before , making them even more valuable and worth getting.

On the other hand, to better distinguish some level ranges from others, new icons will be added that will only be reflected in the future PS5 and in the PlayStation mobile application. With this change, those with a level between 1 and 299 will have a bronze icon, between 300 and 599 it will be silver , between 600 and 998 it will be gold and only level 999 will have a platinum icon with the PlayStation buttons.
In addition, each rank will in turn be divided into another series of stripes so that the progression is further appreciated. It will look exactly as you can see in the following image.

All these novelties will come into force from tomorrow in Europe , although the aforementioned icons will not be available until later, so for now the only thing that will be implemented is the new level system with the new points that will be awarded by the trophies get.
